Daniel L. Forrest is a singer songwriter from Lenni Lanape land (“Philadelphia, PA”), now based in Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh lands (“Vancouver, BC”). DL grew up spending summers at the Philadelphia Folk Festival, but until 2022, remained a fan of the genre, while he wrote indie rock songs in the band, Buddie. Yearning for that comfort of home, a switch went off when attending the Vancouver Folk Festival. Now, inspired by North American folk music he grew up on, DL combined his favorite parts of folk, rock, Americana, and pop. In his latest batch of songs, he speaks about the overwhelming grief in the air, puts a magnifying glass to day-to-day life, and finds joy in music and community.
